I am a grandmother of two girls and one boy. After becoming unemployed I decided to start my own enterprise. I have aways enjoyed knitting and learnt to spin a few years ago. I started on sheep fleece but then I found alpaca fleece and I have spun little else since. However, I am now trying fleece from rare breed sheep and more exotic mixtures such as silk and baby camel (oh so soft), alpaca and silk and flax and silk. Alpacas are very closely related to Llamas, they are about half the size of a llama. They were domesticated thousands of years ago by the native Americans in the Andean Mountains of South America. Therefore they have a very warm fleece.
